On Sunday, September 13, an evening of prayer was held at the Northgate Mall in Lafayette.
Sunday's event was a call for the community to come together in unity for prayer and peace.
Pastor Charles Banks with Fellowship Full Gospel Ministers says that following the incidents in Lafayette concerning police brutality and social justice, it was time to talk with the community.
The gathering took place at 6:00 pm in the Northgate Mall parking lot. Pastor Banks says it is his hope that the event would start the reunification of Lafayette.
Speakers, which included pastors from several denominations, spoke on the ongoing protests and the protection of the community.
Banks said the event was about unity.
