In honor of Veterans Day, UL Lafayette participated in National Roll Call - an event that is synchronized with campuses across the nation.

The event was held at the UL Lafayette student union courtyard.

A minute of silence was held to honor and recognize fallen service members that have died this year. During this time, UL Lafayette student veterans organization members conducted a roll call of names of fallen veterans. Names were provided by faculty, staff, and students.

The Commissioner of Veterans Affairs for the State of Louisiana and the Commander of the Order of the Purple Hearts spoke at the event. The roll call honors those who have served, are currently serving, and those we have lost. The National Roll Call project aims to make Veterans Day on every campus a special time of appreciation and reflection.

Other UL Lafayette events honoring Veterans and active military this week include Stuff the Boat event on November 12. During this event, the organization collected non perishable food items, toiletries, and basic hygiene products for St. Michael's, St. Joseph's Diner, and The Emily House.
