We've received some questions from UL students this week about CARES funds.
The CARES Act provides $14 billion for colleges and universities, and almost half of that money must be given directly to students to help them deal with expenses stemming from the pandemic.
We checked, and several universities across the country have already sent funds to their students. So, we reached out to the university to ask for a status.
Here's what UL tells us:
"The University identified students who could be eligible who have not submitted a 2019-20 financial aid application (FASFA) and we asked them to do so by May 15, 2020. Our goal is to give every student enrolled in spring 2020 the opportunity to receive funding. We are receiving those applications this week. The CARES application information is going out over the next couple of days and we will begin payment as we begin receiving applications. We expect to begin payment this week."
