The University of Louisiana at Lafayette participated in the National Roll Call today.

The National Roll Call project is a national grassroots effort to make Veterans Day on every campus a special time of appreciation and reflection. The 2020 National Roll Call honors those who have served and are serving, as well as the fallen.

At UL, student Veterans as well as faculty and staff veterans read a list of fallen Louisiana service members from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom as well as names submitted from students, faculty and staff.

"They do a whole week for the veterans here, and I think it's real important to recognize veterans and the ones who aren't here, like today," says Kevin Marter, president of the Student Veterans Organization at UL.

We will have more on this story later today on KATC TV3.
