LAFAYETTE, La. — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Athletic Program held a blood drive Monday on Cajundome Boulevard to help with shortages due to the impact from Hurricane Laura and shortages resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a spokesperson with the UL Athletics Department, the entire football team as well as student athletes and staff from UL's 15 sports programs participated in the blood drive.
After making his donation, UL Ragin' Cajuns Head Coach Billy Napier said that they would attempt to make the blood drive an annual event.
