On Saturday, two clubs that usually are packed were dark, HOT107.9 is reporting.
Marley's Sports bar and Nitetown both closed their doors Saturday night to protect their workers and patrons.
In light of the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Acadiana, part owner George Favaloro sent HOT107.9 the following statement:
"After much discussion with my staff concerning the recent spike of COVID 19 cases among college students, we made a business decision based on the safety of our staff and customers to not open Saturday night. With it being Father’s Day weekend, the safety and well being of our staff, customers, and the people that they will come in contact with, came first."
