On Jeanette Street in Lafayette, a tree has crushed a home where one woman has lived for 36 years.

Shortly before 8:00 pm on Friday, Ms. Rochelle Johnson was sitting in her living room when a tree came crashing through her bedroom at the back of her home.

When the tree hit, Johnson said that there was a loud boom and the whole house lifted up.

She told KATC's Scott Brazda that it felt like a tornado had lifted up her home.

Despite the damage, Johnson is unflinching. She is looking beyond what has happened and is working toward what's next.

Her son Phil is planning to help her find out what those next steps will be.

We'll have more with Ms. Johnson and her son during our Live Coverage of the aftermath of Hurricane Delta.
