LAFAYETTE, La. - Blue Dog Cafe is now again serving their Top 10 original menu favorites.

The restaurant invites diners in Acadiana to come back and try the original recipes of dishes like the Corn and Crab Bisque, Seafood Wontons, Crawfish Enchiladas, Chicken Bayou Teche, Louisiana Purchase and more.

"In the past two years, Blue Dog Cafe created contemporary Cajun dishes that have hooked Acadiana on newer offerings like our New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp & Grits, Fresh Gulf Catch, Crabmeat Linguini, Cast Iron Heirloom Blue Cornbread and Breaux Bridge Catfish," says Steve Santillo, partner and founder of Blue Dog Cafe. "But, our customers repeatedly told us that they are nostalgic for many recipes from our original menu that we served when we first opened in 1999. So, we have brought the 'best of' those dishes back so diners can enjoy both what is new and traditional at Blue Dog Cafe."

Other items returning from the original menu include the Crab Cakes, Shrimp en Brochette, Santillo Caesar Salad, Catfish Blue Dog and Whiskey Bay Flounder.

For 2020, Blue Dog Café also brings back their lunch-portioned menu. Patrons of the restaurant can now get in and get going for lunch Monday - Friday from 11:00 - 2:00 with their choice of eight menu items priced under $14. The lunch menu includes Seafood Tacos, Hamburger Steak, Linguine Pomodoro and the Blue Dog Poboy.

The full menu and traditional menu favorites are also served during lunch.

Other restaurant changes from 2019 will continue. Wednesday Burger Nights have become popular at the eatery featuring several craft burgers created by their culinary team.

Plus, the new a la carte Sunday Brunch menu continues.

"We continue to evolve with the times and tastes of locals and visitors," said Jacques Rodrigue, co-owner and son of artist George Rodrigue. "We are very thankful for the support of the Lafayette community for the last 20 years and with our latest changes we hope to continue to delight our guests. Our entire facility has been upgraded and I am so happy that throughout the restaurant we can share our amazing collection of Dad's art that celebrates Cajun culture, and creates a unique atmosphere unlike any other restaurant in the South."
