A Christmas toy drive is underway in Lafayette through Saturday December 19, 2020.
Foster the Love Louisiana, along with Nidal Balbeisi and the Lafayette Women’s Chamber of Commerce have partnered to hold the toy drive which began on December 12.
Foster the Love Louisiana a is a non-profit organization that serves foster children by providing support and resources to the foster children and the foster community.
"It’s especially difficult at this time of year for foster children who are in foster care and not with their family. This is why we chose to partner with them," said the Lafayette Women's Chamber of Commerce in a press release.
The community is asked to donate new, unopened and unwrapped toys for children of all ages.
Donations can be made by dropping them off at Baba Kabab Restaurant located at 3809 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, #135C, Lafayette, LA 70503.
Here is a list of other items you may donate that will help foster children ages Newborn to 12+ teenagers:
- pajamas
- socks
- hairbrushes
- toothbrushes
- small blankets
- coloring books
- crayons, journals
- pens and pencils or colored pencils
- small stuffed animals.
All donations will be given to children in the Acadiana area.
