Duson Town officials escorted Santa up and down the streets of Duson on Christmas Eve before Santa takes off on his busy night.
Santa met his police and fire department escort at 2:45 pm at the Duson Fire Station.
The caravan traveled through the Town with Santa riding on top of a Fire Engine. Helpers gathered letters for Santa from local residents.
"Today Santa Claus is preparing to head out and deliver his gifts over night but he decided to stop in Duson," said Police Chief Kip Judice. "Make a ride through town. Let the kids see him wave. Wish them all good luck and let them know he will be on his way shortly."
Kids were invited to stand outside of their homes when they heard the sirens coming down their street.
Officials encouraged social distancing for the event.
