Third person arrested in Gauthier Road shooting

A third person has been arrested in connection with a shooting this week in Lafayette.

According to arrest reports, Lafayette Police booked 19-year-old Jeremy J George Jr into jail on a charge of attempted second degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Reports say that George was arrested after firing shots during the incident in the 200 block of Gauthier Road.

On Thursday, two people were arrested in connection with the shooting which occurred September 22 in Lafayette.

Police say the incident happened at around 9:00 am on that Wednesday.

According to the department, multiple shots were fired from a vehicle towards an individual and residence in the area.

Police say no one was injured and that the incident was isolated. Two individuals, identified as Umoja Willis and Dontrayvien Washington, were arrested in connection with that shooting.

Willis and Washington were arrested and booked on charges of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Attempted First Degree Murder.

Their bonds were both set at $225,000.
