The Lafayette Azalea Trail is continuing to expand.

A groundbreaking was held to announce the partnership with Azalea Trail and the Oil Center Association and Lafayette Consolidated Government to revitalize the Coolidge Boulevard.

This project is being funded by a grant from the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area. The revitalization is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2019.

The Azalea Trail has been around since the 1930s, winding through historic districts, downtown, the university and oil center, and neighborhood garden districts with boulevards for approximately 25 miles.

Bloom season for the Azalea Trail is February 23rd thru March.
