The Scott Boudin Festival has been canceled this year.
The board of directors says that it has been monitoring the Covid-19 situation and its effects on the festival very closely. In March the festival was postponed due to COVID-19 and was scheduled for dates in September.
"We have been humbled by the overwhelming and continued support we have received from our sponsors, volunteers, vendors and our wonderful community as we postponed our event from April 2020 to September 2020. As many know, the Scott Boudin Festival hosts crowds of thousands, both locals and visitors alike, coming together to celebrate community, life, and Boudin."
The festival board says the decision to cancel comes with the "growing uncertainty of the situation." They say the cancellation is in the best interest of the public, community and Scott Boudin Festival Association.
"Our focus must be on the safety and well-being of all of our volunteers, vendors, and festival-goers. Further, under current restrictions and with the risk of additional heightened restrictions, we are concerned about our ability to produce an event of the quality and caliber to which our visitors are accustomed. We thank everyone for their support and understanding during this difficult time for us all."
The 8th annual festival is scheduled for 2021. Dates will be April 9, 10, and 11.
