A drive-thru turkey giveaway will take place on Saturday in Lafayette to address food insecurity.
Around 250 Thanksgiving turkeys will be handed out to families as part of a partnership between Healthy Blue and State Rep. Vincent Pierre.
The drive-thru, no-contact event begins at 11:30 am at the Super 1 Foods on W. Willow Street.
Turkeys will be handed out on a first come first serve basis.
The giveaway is free and open to the public.
Healthy Blue says that the effort is a way to provide families with access to a Thanksgiving meal while ensuring fewer residents go hungry.
