LAFAYETTE, La — The Lafayette Police Department says that a 74-year-old woman died from extremely cold temperatures Tuesday morning.

Officers say Mary Guillory was found dead on February 16 in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of River Oak Circle.

Guillory is believed to have wandered from her residence overnight during a medical episode possibly related to dementia.

Police say she walked through the neighborhood and arrived at a neighbor's residence to receive assistance where she succumbed to the extreme cold.

The department says they are investigating the incident as a natural causes death.
