STEM Academy grads get their diplomas

Posted at 4:03 PM, May 27, 2020

Graduating Seniors at David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy got their diplomas this morning.

The students got their diplomas, senior awards, and "other goodies" from their teachers and administrators this morning via a drive-through in the school's back parking lot.

"We look forward to graduation coming up, but it's been a really hard end for these seniors and it's been really hard for our staff as well," explained principal Jeff Debetaz. "We're excited to be able to do this. It makes us feel good, it makes them feel good."

Here's what LPSS has told us about Lafayette graduations: A graduation ceremony will be held in July with strict guidelines. Graduates will only be allowed to have four guests attend. A virtual graduation will be available for those who can not attend.

Watch the graduation ceremonies live from the comfort of your home computer, laptop or mobile device. Visit on the day of graduation for live streaming access. You can also purchase a digital copy of your school's graduation ceremony for $20 from the Cajundome. Click here beginning July 6 for ordering information.
