LAFAYETTE, La. - St. Thomas More students and faculty collected thousands of canned goods for local food banks.
Saturday morning the football team loaded the food in trucks to deliver the donations to Food Net.
This year, they collected more than 15,000 cans of food that will now go to various area organizations.
"It's become the single largest donation to St. Josephs Diner, Food Net, Catholic Charities," said Shane Savoie, Campus Minister. "One donation for the year, so we really tell our kids its our chance to give back to the community."
