LAFAYETTE, La. SLCC honored graduates with a drive-thru ceremony today.
Another ceremony will take place tomorrow from 8:30 until 1:30 and can be watched live from the school'sfacebook page.
"It's not the traditional commencement ceremony that we normally have indoors, you know, due to the COVID pandemic, but it's an opportunity for us to just be able to celebrate them and recognize them for their achievements," said Vincent June, Interim Chancellor at SLCC.
"We have faculty, staff out here," said Brittany Menard, Asst. Director of Student Engagement. "We've got pom-poms and signs cheering them on, telling them congratulations now. And hopefully they come back and celebrate with us again in December, walk across that stage and get that big moment. You get twice the recognition."
