On Friday, October 2, 2020, Southeastern chain Shoe Station will be holding a job fair at all of its 21 locations from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The retailer is hiring up to 100 employees for all shifts. Shoe Station has large, open-shelf stores in Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia.
The hiring occurs in anticipation of a busy holiday season. "Shoe Station has already ordered over a thousand cases of new styles of footwear, accessories, and apparel in anticipation of a busy holiday season," President and CEO Brent Barkin stated. "Our customers have recently preferred more casual and comfortable styles given current events, and our new product mix from famous brands reflects that demand. With our stores fully back open and our e-commerce site bustling, we anticipate an active Fall and Winter, with sales peaking during the holidays as usual."
Team members will start next week to gain the training they will need to sell tens of thousands of pair of famous brand boots, athletic shoes, casual shoes, work shoes, apparel, and more, according to a release from Shoe Station. Prospective employees should download an application from Shoe Station's e-commerce site, www.shoestation.com, and should arrive with their completed application in hand.
Shoe Station welcomes new team members who seek growth positions in fashion retail. "We invite applicants from all walks of life to gain hands-on experience in today's evolving retail sector. Shoe Station especially welcomes students and graduates of The University of South Alabama, an institution we have proudly supported for over a decade," Barkin said.
