BROUSSARD, La. - Seven teens were arrested following a Thursday night armed robbery.

On Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 9:00 P.M., the Broussard Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress at a residence on 3rd Street.

A description of the suspected vehicle was given and was located by police within minutes. The vehicle, a gray Audi, was stopped in the 200 block of S. Morgan Avenue and contained five suspects that also matched the clothing and physical descriptions given by the victims, according to Chief Brannon Decou.

The investigation revealed that two juvenile victim/suspects (#3 & #4) were attempting to sell stolen firearms via a social media app. The 'buyers' (the five suspects in the car) arrived to purchase the weapons when three people exited the Audi and pulled semi-automatic handguns from their waistbands on the victims, committing an armed robbery, stated Chief Decou. The three robbed the two juveniles, taking two additional guns.
