Second Harvest of Acadiana delivers 1,300 meals to people impacted by winter storm

LAFAYETTE, La. — Second Harvest Food Bank of Acadiana delivered more than 1,300 meals and more than 450 gallons of milk Wednesday to local hotels where many people experiencing homelessness and displaced Lafayette-area residents are staying.

According to a release, Second Harvest staff and volunteers partnered with the Acadiana Regional Coalition on Homelessness and Housing to deliver trucks of meals and supplies to 13 area hotels where displaced people are staying.

The release states that the meal deliveries are part of the food bank’s year-round disaster efforts.
