SCOTT, La. - Today is the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Scott Police Department is stepping up their participation this year.

The department has always used magnets on their cars to raise awareness, but this year, they're also wearing special badges.

"We want to recognize all victims of breast cancer, but Scott Police Department also wants to recognize every person that has any kind of cancer and let them know that we are here to fight crime, but we are here to help them to fight their problems that they are facing with their battle with cancer," said Scott Police Chief Chad Leger.
