UPDATE: The Scott Police Department says they have located and arrested the suspect wanted in connection to a shooting Monday night.

35-year-old Delana Francis of Lafayette turned herself in at 4:30 p.m. at the Scott Police Department.

Police says that Francis cooperated with investigators and was booked into LPCC for attempted second degree murder.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Francis is accused in the shooting of a 38-year-old man on a road in Scott, police say. Officers were called to a local hospital to speak to the victim. During their investigation of the man's shooting, they learned that he had been romantically involved with Francis but they recently broke up.

Monday night they were on their way to the man's home when an argument took place, and he got out of the car. That's when police believe Francis shot him. The victim dialed 911 as the shooter drove away, police say.
