Scott firefighters are investigating a fire that destroy a home on Pecan Grove Road this afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the home at about 5:15 p.m. When they arrived they found a brick home fully engulfed in flames.
Witnesses said the house was vacant but that vagrants were living in it. They also said they thought a woman was still in the burning home, but firefighters did not find anyone inside. The woman that witnesses thought was inside showed up a short time later.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The home was a total loss as a result of the fire damage.
Firefighters from Lafayette, Judice and Duson responded to assist.
