The Scott Business Association is asking all businesses and residents to decorate The City of Scott for Mardi Gras.

The SBA Board of Directors announced in December that its annual Mardi Gras Ball and Parade would be canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As an alternative means of celebrating, the association is asking the community to decorate homes and businesses in the spirit of Mardi Gras.

Prizes will be given to the best decorated business and best decorated residence in the city limits of Scott. All are welcome to participate regardless of being a member of SBA or not.

Judging will take place by city officials and current royalty.

The SBA says that business judging will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021, starting at noon and residences on Saturday, February 13, 2021, starting at 3pm.

The "Courir de Couchon Mardi Gras" is in collaboration with the City of Scott, Scott Police Department, and Scott Fire Department.

Participants can submit their name or business name, phone number, address, and contact person information to sba@scottsba.org. Questions can be submitted to that email or by calling (337) 591-0417.

There are no fees for participating.
