New Time for Rocket Launch
The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra held the grand finale of their Rockin' Rockets Summer Camp today with a rocket launch.
The launch comes just one day before the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing in 1969.
During the week campers became rock stars on the piano, learned about space, and got to build their own rockets.
The rocket launch happened in Downtown Lafayette at Parc International and showcased the rockets built by campers.
The camp was hosted in collaboration with the Lafayette Science Museum.
