Santa Claus paraded through Scott on Sunday, December 20, escorted by the Scott Fire Department and the Scott Police Department.
In the spring, the Easter Bunny made a similar parade through the city, and he talked about it so much that Santa decided he would do a parade, too.
Santa sat atop a fire engine and passed through several city neighborhoods, waving and greeting the children there. To maintain social distancing and safety, Santa stayed on the engine during the parade.
Charlie Albarado and his family came out to watch.
"It's a family-oriented thing. This is what we do in Scott," he said. "It's all about family. We all get along. And it's Christmas time, so we had a good time."
Because Santa couldn't drive by every child's house, he also made a special trip to the SuperOne grocery store and Acadiana High School, so everyone could say hello.
