LAFAYETTE, La. - Right on Crime along with the Louisiana Division of Probation and Parole will present an Employer Engagement Forum, taking place at Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office - Training Center, 1825 West Willow, Class Room #1, Scott, LA 70583, on January 17, 2020 from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, and will feature, Assistant Secretary Rhett Covington with the Department of Corrections along with experts from the community in ReEntry, Community Development and Criminal Justice Reform.
The Forum will address how local businesses can play a part in keeping communities safer and helping the local economy by considering hiring persons who have been previously incarcerated or convicted of certain felonies.
The Employer Engagement Forum will highlight the experiences of the panelists and their expertise in preparing the formerly incarcerated for employment. The purpose of the forum is to assist employers in making informed decisions when considering hiring individuals with criminal backgrounds.
There is no cost to attend and three re-certification credit hours will be awarded to SHRM members who attend the forum.
