Since many Mardi Gras celebrations were canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a Lafayette neighborhood decided to hold their own party this weekend - Parti Gras, that is.

The 2nd Annual Parti Gras started Saturday and will be held again on Sunday from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Held by the McComb-Veazey Neighborhood Coterie and several other organizations, the event allows residents the chance to listen to live music or shop from local vendors. Families can also pick up a Parti Gras Mambo bag, filled with Mardi Gras goodies and instructions on how to make your own mask. There will be prizes available for best mask.

The event is being held at the Community House, located at 419 12th Street in Lafayette.
