Work is underway to remove the concrete panels on the Buchanan Street Parking Garage the is at risk of falling.
Lafayette Consolidated Government crews removed the first two-and-a-half ton panel earlier today on the 40-year-old garage.
At a special meeting on March 9, 2020, the council approved an ordinance authorizing the administration to proceed with work on the failing building.
The ordinance approves up to $400,000 to be spent on the project.
