Registration is now open for the D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana's Camp Unique.
The summer camp, according to the foundation, is suited for individuals with special needs.
Camp Unique will be held July 13-17 for ages 5-13 and July 20-24 for ages 14 & up.
The cost to register is $75 and the theme this year is Peace and Love.
All camp sessions will be held at LARC's Acadian Village in Lafayette.
The foundation says that campers will take part in activities like art, fitness, karaoke, music, dance and storytelling
A 45-minute Virtual Camp Unique will also be held for those who can't attend camp each day. The virtual camp is $25.
“A highlight of Camp Unique this year will be the storytelling session by Chief Greyhawk Perkins,” commented D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation Executive Director Donielle Watkins. “As a recognized expert on Native American and American Colonial history, Perkins has inspired many audiences over the years sharing tales of ancient cultures as a 'tribal storyteller', and as a teacher of various subjects in Louisiana's school system.”
The registration form for Camp Unique (Virtual and Regular) can be found on the D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana website.
Those interested in volunteering for the camp can complete an application on the DREAMS website under the “Volunteer” tab.
