LAFAYETTE — RE/MAX Acadiana says they are assisting in the efforts to gather donations for Texas flooding victims.

The company says that all items donated at their Curran Lane locations will be transported by Acadiana Movers to the Bead Busters Warehouse for Cajun Navy Relief and Triton Relief Group. RE/MAX says they provided the same assistance to the groups for the last Texas flooding disaster.

"The idea is to provide an additional drop-off point for people wishing to donate but not wanting to drive to Youngsville, and also to cut down on traffic congestion at the warehouse with bulk delivery from moving truck as opposed to many private parties dropping off," Merrie Chris Leger with RE/MAX Acadiana said.

The Acadiana Movers trailer is parked in the front parking lot of RE/MAX Acadiana and RPM Acadiana, located at 114 Curran Lane, Lafayette right across from the WalMart Superstore. Staff will be on locations to help assist with donations Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00pm.

Acceptable items are the same as published by Bead Busters:

Cases of water, sports drinks, non-perishable food, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, baby food & formula, diapers, cleaning supplies like buckets, rags, gloves, mops, metal rakes, flat head shovels, bleach, household cleaning items etc. No clothing is being accepted.
