As part of Giving Tuesday on May 5, Family Promise of Acadiana is collecting cash or check donations, as well as general gift cards, to assist local homeless families.

You can donate from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at a safe-distance, drive-through collection station located at 105 Leonie Street, behind Lafayette Music.

Due to COVID19 risks, the local nonprofit has been unable to host its two biggest fundraisers this spring.

In addition, when eviction deferrals and utility bill deferrals end, the organization expects a rise in calls from people who have been unemployed and will be unable to pay those bills.

The funds raised as part of Giving Tuesday will be used to help keep families in their homes and to assist those within the program.
