Construction on the additional security line at the current Lafayette terminal is progressing.
Earlier this month, Lafayette Regional Airport announced the addition of the new TSA line, saying that travelers would see the new line at the end of the first quarter of 2020.
On Thursday, the airport shared images of the ongoing construction. Drywall is being installed and further construction is expected to be complete with the next several weeks.

The new line, according to LFT Executive Director Steven Picou, will have TSA screening equipment that will be transferred from New Orleans International Airport. TSA is also expected to hire additional personnel to assist Lafayette passengers. The construction needed to accommodate the second TSA line is estimated to cost around $150,000.
