UPDATE: The 6100 block of W Congress is now open.
The 6100 block of W Congress St is currently closed due to a 'major' vehicle crash, according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.
The crash, on W Congress and Norris Rd, involved a motorcycle and a commercial truck, according to LPSO spokesman Capt. John Mowell. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is on scene, along with the Lafayette Fire Department and medical crews.
