UPDATE: Victim identified in Carencro fatal shooting

UPDATE: The identity of the victim killed in a 4th of July fatal shooting has been released.

According to the Lafayette Coroner's Office, the victim is Jaqualon Sellers, 20.

The Carencro Police Department is continuing to investigate Seller's homicide that happened in the 200 block of Brockton Drive.

A 16-year-old was arrested in connection with the homicide in the early morning hours of July 4. Three people including the teen were taken into custody, but two have since been released. Police Chief David Anderson said multiple law enforcement agencies worked together to make additional arrests.

"[We] Extend a thank you to Lafayette Police and Sheriff's office for the help. A combination of all three departments working together which allowed us to make the arrest and take three weapons off of the streets," Anderson said.

Anderson says this is an ongoing investigation and more charges and arrest are forth coming.

The identity of the suspect have not been released at this time.
