LAFAYETTE, LA — The Lafayette Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify the suspect caught on surveillance, following an incident at a Lafayette motel.
Police say, on Dec. 15, there was a fight between two victims and an unknown male suspect at the Discovery Inn on Kaliste Saloom Road. One victim reportedly asked the suspect to leave since he wasn't a guest. The suspect allegedly refused, and slapped the phone out of the victim's hand when he began to call 911.
According to police, the second victim started to record the incident, and then the suspect retrieved a handgun and threatened to "blast" both victims. He drove away in a tan or gold Honda Accord.
The suspect is facing charges of aggravated assault and simple battery.
