LAFAYETTE, La. - Lafayette Police say a man dressed as Santa was one of two individuals shot at Tuesday night during two separate incidents involving an air gun.
One of the shootings happened on Kaliste Saloom when a man dressed as Santa Claus was on a scooter by the Bayou Church and was shot with an air gun, according to Sgt. Wayne Griffin, spokesperson for the Lafayette Police Department.
The second incident happened on the Evangeline Thruway near Chalmette Drive. A man was shot in the back with an air gun. Only minor injuries were reported, Griffin said.
Witnesses and the victim of the second incident reportedly told police that the phrase "white power" was yelled by occupants inside the black car which they say had a confederate flag on it.
