Lafayette Police have identified the victim of Wednesday's fatal crash on the NW Evangeline Thruway.
Police say the crash, which occurred around 1:00 pm at the Thruway's intersection with Chalmette Road, claimed the life of 32-year-old Tiffany Myers of Lafayette.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
On Wednesday, Sgt. Wayne Griffin with LPD said that Myers was waiting in the median to cross over the southbound lanes of traffic at the intersection when, for unknown reasons, a vehicle left the roadway and struck her.
Myers was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was brought to a hospital with injuries.
