Attorneys for the man who could face the death penalty in the beating death of a three-year-old are seeking a plea deal.
According to our partners at The Advocate, Landon Broussard's attorney asked prosecutors twice for a plea deal during hearings Wednesday.
The attorneys did not elaborate on the deal because they are under a gag order and documents are sealed.
Broussard is accused of beating and killing his girlfriend's son, Julian Madera in November 2012.
Police say that Broussard claimed that he found Madera unresponsive in the bathtub of his home on E. Broussard Road on November 29 and that a door had fallen on the child the previous night
