Parish Proud has launched a new clean-up initiative in Lafayette Parish that will run from the end of July to October.
The organization is equipping citizens with tools to help pick up litter in their communities.
And there are prizes for those who participate. Just post your efforts to social media using the hashtag #pickupLFT and you'll be entered to win gift cards from local businesses.
Parish Proud is hoping the initiative will help the community will join together to help out.
"It's been really great to see everyone jump on board. It shows that our community wants to help out and come together and do more for our community in these tough times," explained Katy Dupre, executive director of Parish Proud.
