Our Saviors Church in Lafayette participated in Serve Day 2020 by helping out those who may want a little extra protection during the coronavirus pandemic.
Volunteers handed out 50 packs of free masks in a drive-thru distribution Wednesday evening.
That drive-thru was at the corner of Marie Antoinette and Johnston St.
Serve Day provides churches across the world with opportunities to serve their local communities and share the love of God through practical acts of kindness, according to the initiative's website.
"We're all in this together. Here at Our Saviors Church, we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus," said OSC Kid's Ministry Director Marty Deroussel. "We want to get out into the community, be shoulder and shoulder with all of you and help one another through this. We can only do life together if we are going to win at life."
This year, Serve Day is on Saturday, July 11.
