Due to a rise in positive COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations throughout Acadiana and to protect patients, guests, and team members, Our Lady of Lourdes is restricting its visitor policy beginning on Friday, November 20, effective at 5 a.m.

Each inpatient may have one visitor at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital for the duration of their stay. No overnight visitation on these campuses.

Visitor hours remain 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

One visitor can accompany a patient in OLOL's four Emergency Department locations.

Patients and visitors to ALL campuses - Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Heart Hospital, Women's & Children's Hospital and the ER in Scott - must enter through designated entry points to be screened before entering the facility. The screening process includes a temperature check and questions regarding symptoms, such as cough and shortness of breath. Masking is required.

"The support of family, friends and the community is important in the healing and recovery process," said Gilbert Humbert, Chief Nursing Officer for Our Lady of Lourdes. "In these unprecedented times, social media, Skype, Zoom and other virtual options make it possible to continue providing that support in addition to helping limit the
spread of COVID-19 by reducing in-person interactions. The power to reverse the increase in COVID-19 cases is in your hands," he added. "Wear a mask when you leave your home. Practice social distancing. Wash and sanitize your hands often. These small steps make a huge impact in the effort to reduce the impact this pandemic is having on our communities."
