In a letter to staff on Friday, Our Lady of Lourdes CEO Bryan Lee confirmed the complete acquisition of the Heart Hospital of Lafayette into the Lourdes network.
Lourdes was already the majority owner of the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Lee says that a purchase agreement was recently reached in collaboration with Lafayette Cardiologists. Friday marked the first day of final "go-live" preparations to have the Heart Hospital completely join the network.
The two hospital systems first aligned in 2007.
In his letter, Lee says that the two will work to strengthen their position as the leader in cardiovascular care for the region by expanding services in southwest Louisiana.
A spokesperson said there will be no personnel changes.
The hospital will launch in the market in January 2020 under the name Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital.
