One person was killed overnight during a fire at an apartment complex in Lafayette.

Firefighters were called around 11:27 pm Monday night, to a fire at the Mimosa Place Apartment complex located in the 100 block of Mimosa Place.

Neighbors reported heavy smoke coming from the downstairs apartment.

When firefighters arrived on scene, flames were coming from a bedroom window.
