One arrested, one sought in string of burglaries

One Lafayette man is wanted and another is under arrest in connection with several crimes involving vehicle burglaries and thefts in Lafayette Parish, deputies say.

According to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, the men are accused in connection with a multi-agency investigation spanning various Lafayette Parish neighborhoods late last week.

Jeremy Celestine, 35, was arrested and booked with 14 counts of Simple Burglary, two counts unauthorized use of a moveable and one count of Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Records show he was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center last week. he remains in LPCC in lieu of $85,000 bond.

Jansen Rabon, 22, of Lafayette is still wanted on similar charges.

Celestine's arrest is the result of a culmination of efforts by the Lafayette Police Department, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office and the Broussard Police Department.
