One arrested in third Lafayette shooting since last night

A Lafayette man has been booked with attempted murder in connection with a fight that happened Saturday night.

Lafayette Police were called to a bar in the 4800 block of West Congress Street at about midnight Saturday for a call reporting shots fired. It was the second shooting that happened in Lafayette last night; a third happened Sunday morning. Read about the other two here.

In this case, police say two men were fighting and one of them was shot. Both were hospitalized, both with injuries with the fight and one with a gunshot wound. The investigation is continuing, but one of them already has been released from the hospital and booked.

Macgeorge R. Johnson Jr., 20, was booked with attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons. His bond is set at $135,000, records show.
