Officials broke ground Thursday on the new Cane Place Subdivision in Duson.

The ceremony took place at 8:30 am on September 24 at the location across from Duson Town Hall.

Cane Place Subdivision will be a two-phase project on a 28 acre plot of land along Toby Mouton Road.

City officials say the site will feature 102 plots, each having a brand-new home built by D.R. Horton, Inc.

Construction will commence in summer of 2021 and last until 2024.

Duson Mayor Johnny Thibodeaux says he and the city council are endeavoring to "to better the quality of life for the people of Duson."
