The Director of Scouting for the Dallas Cowboys was in Lafayette Monday to speak to the community.
Lionel Vital spoke about the importance of discipline behavior and parental involvement.
"I hope to get in there and get the kids engaged. I want to hear what they are saying, what their thoughts are," Vital said.
The event was part of the Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department's leadership Program at the Dupuis Recreation Center.
Vital says that the program will be a way for him to reach out to children who are reaching out for help to be better. It is also a way to teach parents about helping their children.
Louisiana Head Baseball Coach, Matt Deggs and former Louisiana Quarterback, Don Wallace also spoke to the community at the event.
