A new non-profit, Addie Jo's Footprints, is hosting its first fundraiser on January 19.

Kelly Czerwinski says the nonprofit was formed to honor her daughter, who passed away aged 19 months in March 28.

"Our mission is to help families of special needs children pay for equipment and services that are not covered on their insurance plan. Our daughter was born with a very rare syndrome and several of her therapies and even her hearing aids were not covered on our private insurance plan," she explains. "We did not qualify for government assistance. We created our nonprofit to help alleviate some of the financial burden that is placed on these families."

The event, Spare some Love, is set for 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on January 19. It will be held at Rock N Bowl in Lafayette. Tickets are available at the door or by clicking here.

Among the activities planned are music, a silent auction, a balloon artist and a face painter.
